Elena Simonsen, LCSW

Clinical Support Specialist/Peer Support Group Coordinator

Elena is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor who specializes in working with people in recovery from substance use, codependency, and other addictive patterns of behavior. She graduated from Florida State University with a Master of Social Work (MSW) and has experience working in inpatient, outpatient, and private practice settings. She enjoys facilitating groups, and offers the peer support group “Let’s Talk About It- Therapist Edition” at TFTC.

Elena has a strong love for writing, which she was able to nurture through blogging while working in private practice. When she stumbled upon the Therapy for Therapists Collective website while doing research for a copywriting project, she couldn’t stop thinking about how she could contribute to their mission and support other therapists in the field. She hopes to do so by using her writing and editing skills to provide other professionals in the mental health field with the tools that they need to remain bright eyed and bushy tailed in the rewarding yet challenging clinical work that they do.
