Frequently Asked Questions

Is my privacy protected?

Yes. The privacy of our members is very important to us, and we will not share your information with anyone except to provide your professional contact information directly for the purpose of someone being matched with you to accept the therapy slot you are offering.

What if the therapist you match me with isn’t a good fit?

No problem! Reach back out to us and we will offer a different match when one becomes available.

Can I cancel my membership at any time?

Absolutely! No strings attached. You can elect to withdraw from the Collective and we will open up your slot with your therapist to see someone else seeking treatment. We will also close the slot you were offering to future referrals.

What if I’m unable to pay my monthly membership fee?

Sometimes money gets tight - trust me, we get it! We never want our members (or anyone!) to be unable to access the support they need because it’s not in the budget right now. Reach out to us, and we will offer options to volunteer (anonymously) for the Collective for an hour per month to cover your fee. We have an amazing team.

I am so glad this exists! How can I help?

Right now, our biggest need is for support group facilitators who are licensed therapists. We also love talking to members of the Collective who want to share ideas, brainstorm, and offer content. The other way that you can increase access is by sharing this site with colleagues and friends. The more potential matches we have, the more therapists can get support on a weekly basis. If you refer a therapist who signs up, drop us an email at hello@therapyfortherapistscollective.com to get a refund for this month.

What if I’m an unlicensed therapist?

There are two options available. First, if you have a supportive supervisor who is open to doing so, you could submit a Supervisor Agreement (located in the Member Area for download). You can offer a pro bono spot and should be matched as quickly as an independently licensed therapist who signs up for our pro bono network.

If you will not be able to contribute slots to the Collective, you will only be eligible for “donated” pro bono slots at this time. This might mean a longer wait time to be matched. These slots will be given to members based both on ideal match as well as on length of time waiting for a match. We will work to make this process as fair as possible, while looking for additional ways to improve access for unlicensed therapists, and will be opening up a dialogue with the Collective members on how we might be able to do this. (If you have an idea, please share it with us!) You can also participate in support groups. Stay tuned!

What if I don’t have a private practice with an electronic health record, telemedicine platform, and forms?

The Therapy for Therapists Collective has a page dedicated to free resources, such as a free electronic health record, a free telemedicine platform, and free (editable) forms you can use. This page will be accessible in the “Members” section of the site when you login under “Therapy for Therapists.”

What if I don’t want to participate in all parts of the Membership?

The Therapy for Therapists Collective offers a lot of great perks, but you can opt out of any of them. If you need to withdraw from your slot in the psychotherapy network, just send us a message. Things happen, and we understand!

How does the PESI Portal work?

There is a page dedicated to the PESI Portal when you login to your TFTC account on our website. It has instructions for accessing the portal toward the bottom of the page. The TFTC offers 50% off the courses in the Portal, and 42% off a ton of other PESI content outside the selection of courses in the Portal. You will receive CEUs, certifications, etc. offered by the PESI course as normal.
